Usher: Why ridicule my love life?

"I'm a guy that decided to marry a woman -- a black woman -- that wasn't perfect, that had flaws, that through all in all, she's been successful on her own. ... and that's a bad thing. I decided to marry this woman, then I decide to be a father to my child," he says with a laugh. "And that's a bad thing. It's not like I got caught with a gram of coke in my car or speeding or was caught for murder, so why would I be ridiculed, that's why I don't understand -- that's the part that is mind boggling. Why would I be ridiculed for that, even a year later." read full story here

I'm happy Usher spoke out about this. Black people male & female always complain about the unity between us and now when a black male and female get married its seems to be a huge problem. The majority of black bloggers tore down his relationship from the day he got married. I even saw on blogs people posting that if he married a spanish women , or a white women, or a women of another ethnicity that they would have been more happier for him. Its obvious that everyone is againt's him marrying a black women. Shows how much jealous women have among each other..Which is ridiculous

I agree, I have been so furious with many bloggers about this topic...especially black women bloggers because they are the main culprits attacking Ushmeka's union. You know, sometimes we can be our own worst enemy because we as black women feel that we are not worthy. So this is why the attacks went out against Tameka because people felt she wasn't worthy. This would not have happened if she were any lighter or another ethnicity. They did the same with Diddy and Kim. When he was with Jlo, the world went crazy. The minute he got back with Kim, the excitement died. Diddy unfortunately wasn't as strong of a man as Usher to say to hell with y'all-I am marrying who is good for me...not who's good for the public. I am happy for Usher and Tameka because she's worth it.

I saw Usher's clip on MTV's TRL and I totally agree with him. Personally, I think folks who are so up in arms about him getting married really need to get a life or face some form reality - the Brother ain't gonna marry you.

i agree with all that you have said. i for one was happy for him when he married and continue to wish him all the best in everything he does. he moved up several notches in my book when he married and stepped up to his responsibilities. the fact that she isn't the typical bombshell you'd expect to see him with) like the gals in his video really made me look at him a bit differently.
