Music Notes

Next month Oscar Award winner Jennifer Hudson will not only co-star in the eagerly-anticipated 'Sex and the City' movie, but will also contribute to a song to the Mathew Patrick King-helmed film's soundtrack. The 'Dreamgirls' star plays a unlucky-in-love assistant named Louise a supporting role to the movie's star Sarah Jessica Parkler. "A young, sweet girl in love with love," is how the former 'American Idol' castoff described her character. The New Line Cinema film, which opens nationwide May 30, also stars original TV series actors Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon. Kristin Davis, Chris Noth, Jason Lewis, Evan Handler and Mario Cantone. Musically, the soundtrack released May 27 will also feature music by Fergie, The Bird & The Bee, India.Arie, Al Green with Joss Stone, Nina Simone and Run DMC. Hudson's track, 'All Dressed Up In Love' is a collaboration with MC Jack Splashy and Cee-Lo Green (of Gnarls Barkley). According to reports, it will also be heard playing over the closing credits of the movie.
