Ty the maker of beanie babies recently came out with 2 new dolls called Sweet Sasha and Marvelous Malia. The company denies the dolls being named after President Barack Obama's daughters Sasha and Malia. They are the only African-American dolls in the 30 doll Ty Girlz collection. The dolls sell for $9.99 each.

i don't like these dolls AT ALL. mostly because they don't look like malia OR sasha...they look more like dora and her family...nice try beanie babies...
lol. well the maker denied that the dolls weren't created after Sahsa and Malia. They don't look look like them. I think its cute lol.
I'm sorry but 30 dolls and they just now thought to produce some brown ones? Shameful.
They shouldn't be trying to make a buck on the backs of schoolgirls or advertising their ignorance this way.
I find it most disturbing that they chose to give them breasts. Malia and Sasha are 10 and 7 years old! It's stupid they're actually denying that the dolls are named after them...how often have you heard the name Malia?
I like the dolls, but First Lady Michelle was not happy with this at all..Very cute though. Oh,,,love your blog.
