Cecil Beaton travelled to Haiti on assignment for Vogue Magazine in 1935 to write about the "extraordinary isle" and kept a photographic journal of Haiti. That's an ingenoius way for Vogue to raise awareness. I always liked Cecil Beaton's elegant pix.
