Beyonce Covers Ebony Magazine

Am I the only one getting tired of seeing celebs on the covers of magazines? I would like to see some unknown faces like, women who are making a difference in their community. Or women who have top grades in College or University, or up and coming artist and or actresses. What are your thoughts, would you like to see more unknown faces sometimes on magazine covers?

It doesn't really bother me because that's the norm I guess. Magazines are trying to make money. If we put regular folks on there nobody probably wouldn't pick them up. There are a few out here though that use regular folks. I do like though how some mags feature reg. folks. Clutch does that a lot.

This is not fair, LOL! Beyonce has my new hairstyle!

I'm tired of it and have been for quite some time. We may live in a celebrity and youth based society but when you are constantly fed the same thing you become tired of it and refuse it.

If any of you can come across older issues of Essence, Vogue and other fashion based magazines you'll see what I mean. Since I like Essence this practice turns me off completly.

The other magazines are used by me to peruse through and copy a look. We don't grace their covers that often because we are not their target demographic so I read them for free in the book stores.

With the combining of media based businesses, they think that the best option is that a celebrity sells magazines. They don't know how wrong this practice makes sells drop.

I'm constantly writing to Essence to put the models back on the covers and also the lesser known celebrities. Ebony and Jet have always used celebrities on their covers.

I'm now waiting for Mrs. Obama to appear on the cover of Oprahs magazine. I wrote a blog about it and that nasty Robin Givhan, wait until you read the post she wrote about the first lady. It was pure nastiness! The link is on my page.

Let me also add that those who are waiting for Beyonce to reveal a little bit of her personal life in the interview will be sadly disappointed.

Personally, I've got to admire her for keeping her personal life private. This is one of her best qualities that has so many people disliking her for this chracteristic.

We may be fans but we don't have know everything about her life, her job is to strictly to entertain us.

that is why i got rid of my essence subscription years ago. i'm not easily impressed with celebrities. coming from the modeling industry, i love to see upcoming models and am bored with celebrity after celebrity gracing covers. but it's about those dollars, so it wont be changing anytime soon. that's fine. i just purchase magazines like trace which feature models and celebrities, highlighting their contributions to society.

I agree, it's all about the money when it comes to magazines. Just tired of seeing the same faces over and over again.

I tend to pick up magazines that aren't main stream..
