Cicely L. Tyson Community School of Performing and Fine Arts

The Cicely Tyson School of Performing and Fine Arts serves as the East Orange School District's educational center for the development of performing and fine arts for middle and high school students. The school reflects a system of formal academic instruction undergirded by an intense arts curriculum. The academic/performing and fine arts curricula have been designed to allow students to be artistically creative in a field of their choosing; yet the academic program remains the foundation of all educational development. This is wonderful and this is what we're suppose to do for our Living Legends, honor and revere them while their still here. They're not irreverent because they are older and don't have hit records, the stunning figures they once had and the hit movies.

Look at Michael Jackson, they miss him more now since he's gone. We don't appreciate them until we lose them. Americans,do everything in their power to dismiss the aging generation and it's stupid.

She is one of my favorite actresses. I felt so proud when my older sister would give me complements saying I looked like her especially whenever I had my hair braided like hers.

I loved it because this lady is also an icon who told us little black girls that we are beautiful too, when we finally saw someone on the silver screen who looked just like us.
