7th Annual Bag Ladies Luncheon benefitting Lupus

Tony Braxton @ the 7th Annual Bag Ladies Luncheon for Lupus

"Lupus is one of America's least recognized major diseases. Nearly 1.5 million Americans have lupus. In fact, more Americans have lupus than cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, sickle-cell anemia, and cystic fibrosis combined, making it one of this country's most prevalent medical problems. However, while lupus is widespread, awareness and accurate knowledge about it lag behind many other illnesses. Lupus is on the rise, and scientists don't know exactly why."

"African-American women are three times more likely to get lupus than Caucasian women and to suffer worse symptoms. According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), as many as one in every 250 African-American women has lupus."

Thanks for the feature on Lupus. I know several people with the disease (Black women) and it's very difficult. Rheumatoid arthritis is a lesser cousin that is also difficult (many lupus patients also have it). Thanks for promoting the awareness. And Toni looks great!
