R.I.P Hank Jones


"Hank Jones, an acclaimed jazz pianist, bandleader and composer, died on May 16, 2010 at a hospice in New York City. He was 91. In his 70-year career, Jones worked with jazz legends such as Benny Goodman, Charlie Parker and Ella Fitzgerald. He also accompanied Marilyn Monroe as she sang "Happy Birthday" for President Kennedy in 1962. Jones was awarded the National Medal of Arts, the NEA Jazz Masters Award, the ASCAP Jazz Living Legend Award and, last year, a Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award." {wireimage} & {citedelamusique}
