Jazmine Sullivan - Lions, Tigers & Bears

Death to Tainted Love

Written by Rain of Havock.

1.Tainted love is love that came from hatred. (Whether it be self-hatred or hatred of others.)

2.Tainted love is love that came from the love of money.(Greed and the want for Material things)

3.Tainted love is abuse that comes under the disguise of love.(Whether it be verbal, physical, emotional, or sexual. This pain is not love)

4.Tainted love is love that came from desperation.(You can't find anyone so you settle.)

5.Tainted love is love that came from pain. (You were hurt so much by the ex that this new person who is a complete 180 of the ex has to suffer from the hurt and pain you experienced thus ruining the relationship with this one that could have been the one.)

France gripped by mass strike to protest fallout from global economic crisis

An activist dressed as French president Nicolas Sarkozy demonstrates in Paris. More than a million French public sector workers staged a massive strike, as anger at Sarkozy's handling of the economic crisis erupted in a day of protest.Photo:Joel Saget/AFP

I really hope these strikes clear up by March because I'm planning on going to Paris that month with my mother for vacation.

France is being hit by a massive strike by public and private-sector workers fearful over the fallout from the global economic crisis.
Officials say the strike has shut down rail and subway lines and left millions of schoolchildren without their teachers. In Paris, commuters braved freezing temperatures and biked, walked and even took boats to work. Continue reading here

Bolivians back new, pro-indigenous constitution in a nationwide referendum

Bolivian voters embraced a new constitution Sunday that promises more power for the long-suffering indigenous majority and grants President Evo Morales a shot at remaining in office through 2014. The charter passed easily in a country where many can still recall when Indians were forbidden to vote.

Its sometimes vague wording and resistance from Bolivia's mestizo and European-descended minority foreshadows more political turmoil in a nation polarized by race and class. Continue reading here

Meet New York's Next Top Model: Chanel Iman on PageSix Mag

"It’s not just black girls. It’s ethnic girls in general: Brazilian girls, Hispanic. You really don’t see a lot of Asians either. A lot of designers think that if every girl on the runway looks exactly alike, then people will come to the shows and buy the clothes because they won’t be focusing on the models….It’s not even just runway either… us ethnic girls should be getting a lot of the covers too!" source

I personally have worked in the fashion industry and the only way to solve this problem is for us to own modelling agencies , support designers from varies ethnic backgrounds , and develop our own industries that develop a healthy image of women.

T.O. police on manhunt for subway shooter

Toronto police have released this image of the man suspected of shooting a 19-year-old at Osgoode station.
This utterly ridiculous , I take the same train line to and from work every single day. If anyone who lives in Toronto was on the train or in Osgoode subway station at the time of the shootng please, please go to the police and help get this male arrested.
The shooting happened at around 10:45 a.m. at the Osgoode subway station in the city's downtown core. The shooting occurred as a group of people spilled out of the southbound train. Two men got into a dispute on the platform and at least three shots were fired, Ferguson said.
The fight then continued on the mezzanine level of the subway station and the suspect fled the scene. Continue reading here

Michelle Obama wears a white Jason Wu gown to inaugural ball

President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama were serenaded by Beyoncé during their first dance at the Neighborhood Ball Tuesday night.

All eyes certainly were on Michelle Obama, who had kept her choice of a designer and dress style a secret until literally the moment she entered the dance floor.

The first lady was clad in a long white gown designed by up-and-coming designer Jason Wu. His design style combines modern lifestyle dressing and haute couture, according to his Web site.
