THE MESSENGER Since Earvin “Magic” Johnson revealed his condition 16 years ago, Cookie Johnson has remained somewhat quiet about what it's like to be married to someone who is HIV-positive. But after encountering a young woman who contracted the disease and yet knew nothing about it, Johnson decided she had to do more. This year she's traveling to several cities nationwide with the “I Stand With Magic” campaign, a partnership between the Magic Johnson Foundation and Abbott pharmaceuticals, which aims to teach prevention and provide resources for testing.
