Tiffany, I think we are all elated about this cover. We know it's a promotion for the movie but, maybe they got my message and those of other readers to change it up a notch. And as for me,I'm yearning for the Essence covers of long ago which featured celebrities, but not like the way they do now. I *heart* the Blogs because they are the best things out here. Why do you think they (Essence) went to a blog format on their site? They wanted to copy the best of the web. LOL!
My mouth dropped when I saw this picture. I think they are starting to realize that they need to change who is on the cover once in a while. Plus it's promotion for the movie.
I was wondering the same thing about their website going to a blog format too lol.

Love the blog. I think I found a magazine junkie just like me. And I must agree with Divalocity. What the heck would we do w/o blogs and the all the diverse voices.
I miss the old Essence.com though. I want online magazines to be online magazine and blogs to be blogs. Oh well.
