JMK Art Collective Presents S.H.E. is a work of Art! Sept 11 - 13

Can the depth a woman’s essence be accurately demonstrated through brush strokes on a canvas? The gentlemen of JMK Art Collective attempt to answer these and many other questions about the mysteries of women in their latest exhibition entitled S.H.E. The exhibition will be held at the Gladstone Hotel, September 12 & 13, with an Opening Reception on September 11, at 7pm.

S.H.E is JMK’s third self produced exhibition. Through their newest individual collections of paintings, respectively entitled “Supernatural”, “Herstory”, and “Eroticism”, Jason O’Brien, Mark Stoddart, and Kwame Delfish provide viewers with a unique vantage point – the essence of a woman, as seen through the eyes of a man. S.H.E. is also a collaborative experience, pairing the power of visual arts with spoken word through performances by Jemeni, Motion, and True, three of Toronto’s most prolific female spoken word artists.

The exhibition is open to the public. Guests can purchase originals and limited edition giclées from new and past collections.

MARK STODDART's COLLECTION IS "H": "HERSTORY"

"God's woman is proud of HERstory. S.H.E understands her present and moves toward the future. S.H.E knows The Creator and knows that with The Creator the world is her playground, but without

The Creator S.H.E will just be played. God's woman does not live in fear of the future because of her past. Instead S.H.E understands that her life experiences are merely lessons meant to bring her closer to self knowledge and unconditional self love.

HERstory has strength that amazes me. S.H.E can handle trouble and carry heavy burdens. S.H.E holds happiness, love and opinions. S.H.E smiles when S.H.E feels like screaming. S.H.E sings when S.H.E feels like crying. S.H.E cries when she's happy, and laughs when she's afraid. Her love is unconditional with a dash of inspiration, and a dabble of endurance.
