Now about the movie:

A single mother living in inner city Chicago, Brenda has been struggling for years to make ends meet and keep her three kids off the street.

But when she's laid off with no warning, she starts losing hope for the first time – until a letter arrives announcing the death of a father she's never met.

Desperate for any kind of help, Brenda takes her family to Georgia for the funeral. But nothing could have prepared her for the Browns, her father's fun-loving, crass Southern clan.

In a small-town world full of long afternoons and country fairs, Brenda struggles to get to know the family she never knew existed...and finds a brand new romance that just might change her life.

ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- The Rev. James Orange, a civil rights activist whose 1965 jailing sparked a fatal protest that ultimately led to the famed Selma-to-Montgomery march and the Voting Rights Act, died Saturday at Atlanta's Crawford Long Hospital, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference said in a statement. The first formal antislavery resolution was passed by the Quakers of Germantown, PA, on this date in 1688. The Society of Friends said slavery was in opposition to Christianity and human rights.

Paul Revere Williams, NAACP Spingarn Medal recipient and architect who designed the Hollywood YMCA and fabulous homes for celebrities, was born in Los Angeles, CA, on this date in 1894.

Toni Morrison, writer and the first Black woman to be awarded the "Nobel Prize in Literature," was born in Lorian, OH, on this date in 1931. Morrison received the "Pulitzer Prize" for her book, Beloved, in 1988.

The African nation of Gambia gained its independence on this date in 1965 with David K. Jawara as its Prime Minister. Gambia had remained the last British colony in West Africa.

Canal Walk is a 125 000 m² shopping centre in Cape Town, South Africa, built around a series of canals. The centre forms the heart of a mixed-use development known as Century City, which includes office blocks, residential areas and the Ratanga Junction theme park.

Canal Walk is the largest shopping centre in Africa in lettable area (Gateway Centre in Durban is larger in total area) and the Sandton City complex in Johannesburg is larger if you include the Nelson Mandela Square annex. Built in what the developers call "Cape Venetian architecture", the shopping centre hosts over 400 stores, numerous restaurants, 20 cinemas plus a game arcade, skate-park and the MTN Sciencentre, an interactive science centre which in 2007 applied to the Guinness Book of World Records for the world's largest cellphone.
