Celebrated makeup artist, Roxanna Floyd, died unexpectedly in her sleep at her home in the Clinton Hill section of Brooklyn, New York on Thursday afternoon, January 28, 2010.
Roxanna Floyd’s artistry has influenced every era since the 1980s and she has worked on every continent, with the exception of Antarctica. She leaves behind a legacy of work covering every medium from music videos to major motion pictures, album covers to book jackets, the Internet and more than 200 magazine covers and fashion and beauty stories.
Many know Roxanna for her work with world-renowned celebrities such as Angela Bassett, Whitney Houston, Mary J. Blige and Queen Latifah, but her first celebrity client was Yoko Ono and her first of more than 60 ESSENCE covers was with Halle Berry.
