Negro comes from Latin, not Greek. Niger, in Latin, means black, and so in Portuguese, Spanish and Italian the word for black is negro. The Portuguese were the first Europeans to land in Africa, and they deemed the Africans they came in contact with negros, and so the English followed suit.
All the words have the correct links with the definition of the words.
Necro comes from greek,necro-, the Greek prefix meaning death . We keep referring ourselves by labels in which they placed on us and we wonder why they hate black. That is not our NAME. Our fore mothers never named us black.
I'm sorry, I misread the post. But I still don't understand the link between Negro & Necro other than that they sound similar. No one to my knowledge has referred to anyone as Necro...
I don't mean to drag this on, but I am pretty sure that Latin does not stem from Greek. But just want to make clear that I'm not disagreeing with your point about rejecting the label "Black." I am just saying that I don't think it's accurate to associate the Latin Niger with the Greek Necro.

I never wrote that negro comes from Greek.

I personally was not associating latin with greek I was just giving the definitions of each word that Malcolm X had on the board that he was teaching.
