I'm hoping and praying that Rihanna is going to leave Chris Brown after this situation. I personally do not buy albums or Cd's so it will not be hard for me to boycott Chris Brown but for those who do please do not buy any of his music etc. BOYCOTT. Violence committed by anybody towards anyone needs to end. Please do not "racialize" this incident either because men of all ethnic groups are violent towards women, sadly there are women out there promoting the notion that non-black men are not violent or will not abuse you which is false. I will not name the blogs were I see this foolishness taking place.

Yea this pic is sad. But,I'm not the type of person to judge without knowing what really happened. So I'm not going to down Chris and I'm not going to down Rihanna. If this situation between them really did happen, then I feel sorry for both parties. But, like everyone else I don't know what happened. I think some ppl went overboard with the boycotting his songs and shredding his cds. This type of stuff happens everyday so it's not really a surprise.
Yeah, this photo really hit home today. My heart goes out to both Chris and Rhianna as they both need help. Chris made a major mistake and needs to seek help with controlling is anger. And Rhianna needs support and guidance so she can walk away from this situation with her head held high.
I am not judging anyone, but no matter what was said or done, no one deserves to have a face that looks like this. This is unjustifiable!
Exactly, this is unjustifiable.
This breaks my heart. There is never any rationalization for abuse, no matter the particulars of the situation. It bothers me not because there's a myth that this goes on only in communties of color. It bothers me that I have heard instant support and justification for Chris but not Rihanna. I have heard rumors of how she somehow provoked it or deserved it. I do not know the particulars of the situation but it doesn't matter. Nobody deserves to be physically abused. It isn't a matter of judgement, it is a matter of self worth. The misogny that is accepted in our community is the underlying issue here.
@ Fly Girl
I 100 % agree with your comment.
"The misogny that is accepted in our community is the underlying issue here."
This is a serious issue because both men and women have misongy mindsets.
"if you see 'em point 'em out!"
j/k
but for real, this is TERRIBLE and i have to admit though that i expected to see worse...
i don't understand why her family isn't basically "forcing" her to leave him.
i have 2 daughters and if either one of them EVER suffered this kind of abuse from their "boyfriend" not only would i be .7 seconds offa HIS behind, but i would make it CLEAR to my daughter how unacceptable this is and my blatant feelings about her "decision" as a "grown" woman to go back to him IF that is what she chose to do...now, my kids are young and i'm already teaching them not to tolerate this kind of behavior.
they may not understand now, but some day they will.
EVERYTHING (and i can't put enough empasis on the word everything) starts at home!
each one teach one!!!!!
BTW they have made this song Rihanna's new theme SMH:
