Quadruplets Accepted to Yale

Suddenly the screen turned blue — Yale blue — and an image of a bulldog, the university mascot, appeared, followed by “Welcome to the Class of 2014.” Ray, 18, had been offered a spot in the next freshman class, under its early-admission program. Standing behind him, his mother, Caroline, screamed.

But that was only the beginning. Moments later, Ray’s brother, Kenny, also 18, went to the Yale site and got an identical message. He was followed by their sister Carol. Same news. Then the room fell silent. Ray, Kenny and Carol are quadruplets, and their sister Martina had applied to Yale, too. Read more here.

Afrikan Holistic Parenting

"There is a saying, “if you heal a woman you heal a nation”. I offer this book as a token of peace and healing. As a group of people, Afrikans hold much sickness, hurt, toxicity, and disease. These ailments are brought on by emotional and physical issues. Women especially hold on to this hurt in their centers, their wombs. All life comes from the womb. Afrikan nations depend on the womb to build and grow. The men have wombs too. Men and women have many relationship issues due to a myriad of factors. Afrikan women have forgotten what it was like to hold the Afrikan man in her womb, sending him love, protection, and healing. The Afrikan man has forgotten the womb from which he came. He has essentially forgotten who his mother is. He has forgotten floating in those sweet peaceful waters. " click here to read more

Obama's grandmother dies after battle with cancer

This photo provided by the Obama campaign shows Obama in 1979 with his grandmother Madelyn Lee Payne Dunham

Sen. Barack Obama's grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, has died following a bout with cancer, Obama and his sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng, said Monday.

"She was the cornerstone of our family, and a woman of extraordinary accomplishment, strength, and humility," their statement said.
"She was the person who encouraged and allowed us to take chances. She was proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and left this world with the knowledge that her impact on all of us was meaningful and enduring. Our debt to her is beyond measure."
Obama and Soetoro-Ng asked that donations be made for the search for a cure for cancer in lieu of flowers. A small private ceremony will be held "at a later date."
The Democratic presidential candidate left the campaign trail on October 23 and flew to Honolulu, Hawaii, to spend the day with Dunham, whose health deteriorated after she suffered a broken hip.
His wife, Michelle Obama, filled in for him at events in Columbus and Akron, Ohio, on October 24.
Obama said in an interview taped for that day's "Good Morning America" that Dunham had been "inundated" with flowers and messages from strangers who read about her in Obama's 1995 book, "Dreams From My Father."
"Maybe she is getting a sense of long-deserved recognition toward the end of her life," he said.
The candidate resumed his campaign on October 25. continue reading
